I came upon this wonderful little book at Yellow House Books in Great Barrington, MA. Charles Olson was the de facto leader of all things poetic at Black Mountain College, writing along side Robert Creeley (aka Odin), Robert Duncan, and Ed Dorn. In addition to his poetry he was an amazing essayist. This collection reflects his study on Melville -- I had just finished Moby Dick when I found the book so it felt like a special gift from the universe while wondering into a bookstore on my honeymoon. It's an extraordinary treat for those who love Olson, Melville, or energetic American literary prose.
Bonus Content: Olson reading "The Librarian" -- watch this and you'll get the energy Olson brings to everything he writes.
