If you like James Joyce and Paris and 1920s expats and books -- get Sylvia Beach's memoir Shakespeare and Company. She tells the story of her wonderful life, her bookstore, and becoming a publisher in order to publish Joyce's Ulysses when no one else would. Read about her and Joyce really doing it all -- the two of them were said to be seen around town with packaging glue in their hair and on their clothes from working days on end in the backroom packaging books to ship out after the release. Sylvia clearly was an absolute legend, it's a wonderful memoir.
